Scandal Zinfandel

Scandal is a single-vineyard, single-varietal, red Zinfandel wine from Dry Creek Valley.

Bill making a Zin? Now that is a scandal!

Zinfandel, a variety which Bill swore he would never make, is now subject to the same respectful winemaking as our high caliber Burgundy style wines.

Treating the Zin with the same caring protocols as our Pinot produced a beautiful Zinfandel wine with a very smooth, almost creamy mouth and mid-low alcohol.

Serving Temperature:    60°F- 65°F

We assumed the farming of a highly regarded Zinfandel vineyard in Dry Creek Valley to support the property owner, one of our Wine Club Members.

Ideally located on a south-facing slope with well-drained clay loam soils the vineyard is now farmed to produce low-yield, high quality fruit.

Conceptually we were only making this wine for one year - just to help out. We should never have let our club members taste it - now we have to make it every year.

Scandal ~ to defame or create offense, like Bill making a Zin. Now that is a scandal!
