CELLAR CLUB

Exclusively for Williamson Wine Club Members

The Winemaker’s Choice

What does a winemaker drink when every bottle in the cellar is his to choose?

That question became the Cellar Club.

These are the wines Bill reaches for himself: small-production Reserve reds with character, depth and a strong sense of place. They are made in quantities too limited for general release and offered only to members who want to venture a little deeper into the Williamson cellar.

One Special Bottle with Every Shipment

Cellar Club is available exclusively to Williamson Wine Club members. Each regular quarterly shipment includes one additional bottle personally selected by Dawn and Bill—a total of four special wines each year.

The selection is usually a limited-production Williamson Reserve red. Each bottle adds approximately $145 to the shipment, depending on the wine, and your regular Wine Club discount applies.

There is no complicated formula behind the choice. If you enjoy the wines Bill makes, there is a fair chance you will enjoy the wines he chooses for his own table.

Some wines announce themselves loudly. The better ones tend to linger, revealing more with dinner, conversation and time in the glass.

Cellar Club selections are chosen for that reason. They may come from an exceptional vineyard, an unusually expressive vintage or a small lot that proved too distinctive to disappear into a larger blend.

Production is limited. Once the bottles are spoken for, there are no more waiting in the warehouse. That is rather the point.

Our Sister Wineries

During Williamson Wine & Food journeys through Australia and Europe, Dawn and Bill have visited small family wineries, met their owners and tasted through their cellars.

A few became what we call our Sister Wineries— independent producers who share our belief that wine should reflect its grape, its vineyard and the people responsible for it.

In earlier years, an imported bottle from one of these wineries would occasionally replace the Williamson Reserve selection. Since the pandemic, Cellar Club shipments have featured Williamson Reserve wines exclusively, although the friendships—and the pleasure of sharing these discoveries through our travels—continue.

These are not commercial arrangements assembled across a conference table. They began in vineyards, cellars and long lunches, usually with another bottle opened just when everyone had agreed there had already been enough.
