Spice Club May 2024

Over a decade has passed since members asked us to create a spice club to add a little extra flavor to recipes paired with our wines and so here are the spices our chefs have been using for our latest Spice Club Recipes.

Porcini Powder

These dried, ground porcini mushrooms have an intensely rich, nutty, earthy-sweet flavor and distinct meatiness which compliments sauces, casseroles and rice dishes.

Use it in pasta sauces, gravies and sauces. Try a sprinkle on scrambled eggs, on an omelet or in place of flour in homemade pasta or lasagna. An ideal meat stock replacement for vegetarians.

Lemon & Herb Pepper

A delicious blend of cracked pepper and natural lemon to add zest to salads or sandwiches and to season chicken or fish.

With a tangy lemon and pepper taste that comes from an expert blend of lemon, pepper, ginger, parsley and other spices, this spice mix is heart healthy, extra lean and a great way to really dress up bland protein like chicken or fish.

Mexican Spice Blend

The perfect spice blend for tacos and con carne, our Mexican Spice Blend is relatively mild due to the inclusion of paprika and cumin.

Use to season mince for tacos and flavor Mexican meals in general, especially with beans and you can give barbecued meat a lift by rubbing Mexican Spice Blend onto the surface before cooking.

Tigers Spice

A delicious blend of paprika, sea salt, black sesame seeds, pepper, nigella seeds, cane sugar, lime leaves, Australian lemon myrtle leaves and wattle seed. A one-of-a-kind spice that will lift any food to the WOW position.
