The Balmain Tigers are a rugby league football club based in the Sydney suburb of Balmain. The distinctive black and orange colors of their striped jerseys led their fans to nickname them "Tigers" so Herbie created this spice mix with its black and orange color to match the Tigers.

The original Herbies shop was located in the suburb of Balmain in the same block as the football club. Rumor has it that Herbie spent an unusual amount time in the club doing "research" for this spice.
