Lamb Sausage Rolls
These delicious sausage rolls are the perfect budget-friendly appetizer or brunch. Full of flavor they are guaranteed winner at parties and picnics.
Ingredients
lean minced or ground lamb

1.5 pound
Herbie’s Baharat Spice Blend
·
1.5 teaspoon
Herbie’s Aleppo Pepper
·
1/2 teaspoon
Salt
·
1 teaspoon
toasted pine nuts
·
3/4 ounce
finely chopped flat leaf parsley
·
2 tablespoons
tomato paste
·
1 tablespoon
Greek feta, finely crumbled
·
4 ounces
sheets all butter puff pastry
·

egg, beaten, for egg wash
·
1
Herbie’s toasted sesame seeds, to decorate
·

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl, using hands until thoroughly combined.
Place a quarter of the filling in a vertical line on pastry sheet 5cm from left edge. Brush the right hand side of filling with egg wash, roll pastry over filling and cut through pastry. Cut into 5 small sausage rolls and repeat with remaining filling and pastry, placing on a tray lined with baking paper.
Brush finished sausage rolls with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Place in hot oven, or refrigerate until ready to cook (up to 24 hours).
Cook for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Chef Tommy's Tips:
The filling can be pre-prepared and refrigerated or frozen.
It is important to use lean mince as if it’s too fatty it will make the pastry soggy and greasy.
