Health Benefits

Commonly referred to as “medicinal sugar” by those that consume it regularly, Jaggery is prepared from the sap or juice of plants, such as sugarcane and date palm. Jaggery is thought to be an excellent source of minerals, including iron and potassium, and is traditionally used to enhance digestion, relieve constipation, and to cleanse the body by binding to unwanted waste materials. It is thought to be a purer substitute for sugar, and may be better at preventing spikes in blood sugar levels.

Jaggery is surprisingly effective as an aid for weight loss. This is because jaggery is a rich source of potassium, which is a mineral that helps in the balance of electrolytes as well as building muscles and boosting metabolism.N
