Harmony is a blend of our Rhone style grape varieties from our vineyards in Dry Creek Valley.
Red Rhone style wines - we make three beautiful single-varietal examples, Heritage Shiraz, Embrace Grenache and Mourvèdre (very little is made so there is never a Mourvèdre bottled under it's own varietal name).
All three of these red Rhone style wines are blended to make our Châteauneuf-du-Pape style wine called Enchant Trinity, often called a GSM (Grenache + Shiraz + Mourvèdre).
Enchant is such a beautiful wine we were encouraged to continue our Rhone blending odyssey.
In the beginning . . .
With three separate Shiraz vineyards we decided to make a pure Shiraz, blending fruit from all three vineyards.
The hillside vineyards contribute power, the valley vineyards contribute smooth subtle flavors while the more gentle graded vineyards provide complexity.
Our blending goal for Harmony 2014 was to produce an elegant, harmonious and balanced Barossa style Shiraz.
Harmony 2014 - a pure Shiraz made from a blend of our three Shiraz Vineyards in Dry Creek Valley. A delightful wine with lovely juicy blackcurrant and plum flavors forming the base of the palate, with blueberry, clove, vanilla and chocolate complexities all emerging as Harmony evolves on the tongue.
Continuously Improving . . .
We already make Enchant Trinity GSM so, with a beautiful Shiraz blend under our belt, well why not go one step further and make Harmony SGM - a blend of Californian Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre in the style of the old vine Barossa Valley wines.
Harmony 2016 - a delicious blend of Californian Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre in the style of the old vine Barossa Valley SGM wines. A beautiful combination of these three majestic grape varieties powerful and full bodied with nice approachable tannin, fine acidity offering potential for further bottle aging, as extraordinarily long as it is concentrated.
Harmony ~ an arrangement of any parallel narratives, which presents a single continuous narrative. In this case parallel Rhone varietals which rendered a new single Rhone variety.

Shiraz Braised Lamb Shoulder
This simple, slow-cooked dish receives a complex flavor from our Shiraz. It is always best to use the same wine for cooking and drinking. We know this is tough when the wine tastes so good alone. When the recipe calls for a whole bottle of wine some people might be tempted to use a cheaper bottle of Syrah and keep the Williamson Shiraz for drinking. This will compromise the integrity of the dish so perhaps the cook should drink a glass of the wine while cooking to ensure the quality of the wine being used.
