Harmony
Harmony, from our Dry Creek Valley vineyards, is a seamless blend where Syrah brings depth and spice, Grenache offers vibrant red fruit and warmth, and Mourvèdre lends earthy complexity and structure.
Together, they create a an elegant, harmonious and balanced Barossa-style Shiraz.
The Australian wine industry has its heart in the Barossa Valley, where Grenache and Shiraz live side by side like old friends who bring out the best in one another—one generous and warm, the other structured and assured.
Shiraz is the backbone here. It thrives in the Barossa’s heat, producing wines that are deep, dark, and full of conviction—blackberry, plum, spice, and that unmistakable richness that seems to linger long after the glass is set down.
Grenache, by contrast, is all charm and ease. It loves the same sun-drenched conditions but expresses them differently—bright red fruits, a whisper of herbs, and a softness that feels almost effortless. From the region’s ancient bush vines, Grenache can be both delicate and surprisingly complex, with a silken texture that invites another sip.
Together, they form one of the Barossa’s most classic partnerships. Shiraz provides depth and structure; Grenache lifts and softens, adding perfume and approachability. The result is a blend that feels complete—rich yet graceful, powerful yet inviting—very much like the valley itself.
Harmony is a blend of our Shiraz and Grenache grape varieties from our vineyards in Dry Creek Valley with a goal to produce an elegant, harmonious and balanced Barossa style Shiraz.
Harmony ~ an arrangement of any parallel narratives, which presents a single continuous narrative. In this case parallel Rhone varietals which rendered a new single Rhone variety.
Rhône varieties are exacting by nature, thriving only where drainage is swift and the soils are laced with gravel. At our Home Ranch, centuries of flowing water have shaped just such a place—a gentle bench beside a stony rise, where vines are forced to root deep, drawing character and complexity from the earth below. It is an ideal setting for crafting our Estate Shiraz of depth and distinction.
Directly across the valley from our Home Ranch, high on a rugged hillside, we cultivate the classic Rhône red varieties—Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre.
Here, the vineyard is rooted in fractured shale and serpentine soils, a demanding terrain that offers little forgiveness and no excess. Water moves through it quickly, disappearing almost as soon as it arrives, forcing the vines to work deep and steadily for every trace of nourishment.
The effect is strikingly familiar to the great hillside sites of the Rhône Valley itself—where stress is not a limitation, but a defining advantage. The result is fruit of intensity and focus: Syrah with depth and structure, Grenache with lift and generosity, and Mourvèdre adding backbone, savory detail, and persistence.
It is a vineyard shaped as much by restraint as by exposure—where the land drains as fast as it receives, and the vines respond with clarity, concentration, and quiet power.

Shiraz Braised Lamb Shoulder
This simple, slow-cooked dish receives a complex flavor from our Shiraz. It is always best to use the same wine for cooking and drinking. We know this is tough when the wine tastes so good alone. When the recipe calls for a whole bottle of wine some people might be tempted to use a cheaper bottle of Syrah and keep the Williamson Shiraz for drinking. This will compromise the integrity of the dish so perhaps the cook should drink a glass of the wine while cooking to ensure the quality of the wine being used.
