Harmony Shiraz SGM 2016

A delicious blend of Californian Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre in the style of the old vine Barossa Valley GSM wines.

While stylistically typical for the region and grape variety Harmony offers concentration and complexity over and above what might normally be expected.

Fragrant violet with a burst of red berry fruits lingering softly on a velvety texture, the nose offers concentrated aromas of red currant, red plum and subtle clove spices. Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvèdre becomes a beautiful combination of these three majestic grape varieties perfected in a true Barossa Valley style. Powerful and full bodied with nice approachable tannin fine acidity offering potential for further bottle aging,*Harmony* is as extraordinarily long as it is concentrated.
The 2016 growing season got off to an early budbreak and moderate weather prevailed throughout summer. The lack of heat waves kept sugar levels and phenolic maturity in sync allowing ripening to progress slowly and predictably. Late August was unusually cool and cloudy, nicely extending hang time without excessive sugar accumulation winding up with exceptional color in the reds.
Matured in French oak for 12 months - 33% new, 33% one use, balance neutral.
