Ewenique is a 100% sheep milk cheese, initially firm but then becomes soft and smooth on the palate.

This complex cheese boasts sweetness and flavors redolent of salted caramel and fresh vanilla beans with a slight hint of citrus to contrast the savory qualities of the sheep milk.

A velvety white paste and delicate, Gouda-like texture. Initially the cheese shows a firm texture but becomes soft and smooth on the palate to perfectly pair with our white wines.

All our cheese are cut and wrapped on demand in 0.5 lb increments. We wrap them carefully in our double lined cheese paper, which allows the cheese to breathe. If the cheese stays wrapped tightly in your home refrigerator, it will provide a lifetime of a couple of weeks after arrival.

Ewenique is a firm, waxed 100% sheep’s milk cheese originating in Holland using an original recipe from aged cheese specialty cheese-maker Reggie Jones.

Production was moved to the US in January 2018 where Ewenique is now aged for four months, developing a brilliant, velvety-white paste and a delicate texture.

After working for years in product development and quality control in industrial cheese production settings, cheese-maker Reggie Jones finally decided to branch off on his own and pursue small-scale artisanal production. Today he specializes in producing aged cheeses that are handmade in small batches using local California milk and organic ingredients.
