This golden, buttery pull-apart bread is loaded with garlic, herbs, mozzarella and Parmesan, with crisp edges and a soft, cheesy center. Ready in about 40 minutes, it’s made for holiday gatherings, family dinners or passing around the table with a good bottle of wine.
Open the biscuit cans and cut each individual biscuit into quarters (4 pieces per biscuit).
Preheat oven to 350°F. Generously grease 9x13 casserole dish with 1/2 tablespoon of butter.
Cut each refrigerated biscuit into quarters and place them in a large bowl.
Heat a saucepot over medium heat and begin to melt the butter then add both the parsley and chives followed by 2 tablespoons of Herbie's Garlic Bread Spice Mix. Slowly melt the ingredients together until they are well incorporated.
Once melted, remove the pot from the heat and pour the melted herb butter over the biscuits in the bowl and toss gently with your hands until each piece of biscuit is coated with butter. Then add the parmesan, two thirds of the shredded mozzarella and 1 more tablespoon of the garlic bread seasoning. Continue to toss with your hands until well coated.
Gently pour the pieces of biscuits in a prepared 9x13 casserole dish. Pour any remaining garlic butter over the top along with any remaining parmesan, mozzarella or herbs (as much, or as little as your would like). Then finish by laying the 6 slices of cheddar on top. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, rotating the pan half way through, until deeply golden and completely cooked through.
Rest for 5 minutes, then brush some additional melted butter over the top before serving. Serve warm and enjoy!
Jenny's Tip: - Bring it to the table warm and let everyone pull off their own cheesy, garlicky pieces. Excellent alongside roast meats, soups or as a holiday appetizer with wine.
