This Tantalize will tease your taste buds, tormenting them by presenting something desirable and continually keeping it at the edge of your taste senses.

Mélange is a French culinary term that means “mixture” which Bill prefers to use rather than Meritage for his American Bordeaux wines.

A brilliant, intense, almost dark purple color. The cornerstone on which this vintage is built is its great aromatic purity. Black fruit and wild cherry notes come bursting to the fore, while the oak is already completely integrated.

The initial reaction on the palate is suave, while the smooth, round and enveloping tannins are cashmere-like in texture.

The finish, thanks to the homogenously high quality of the Cabernet Franc, displays notes of spice and menthol, together with lovely freshness and tension.

Structured by well-softened tannin the finish is soft, both warm and fresh. This wine is very powerful and concentrated

Composed of Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), Cabernet Franc (7%), Petit Verdot (10%, Malbec (5%) and Merlot (3%), it is beautifully balanced.

The composition is not similar to typical Bordeaux blends and is a fine example of the difference California grapes bring to the blending spectrum.

Thanks to abundant rain in spring, vines were given a healthy start. The weather through the growing season was even with only moderate heat events, followed by cool and steady weather through harvest. As a result, producers had the opportunity to make wines with more natural acidity and elegance if desired.

Matured in French Oak for 22 months, approximately 40% new, 40% one use and the balance neutral.

Cases produced = 51. No allergens were used in the making of this wine.
