Tango Malbec 2008

A wine made to pair with bone-in steak reminiscent of lovers entwined in the Tango, the dance of love.

A wonderfully deep, dense, glossy red-black hue when poured into the glass. The nose starts off with blackcurrant and ripe plum with a layer of densely compacted fruit beneath revealing a seam of minerals and still more. Pure on the palate with a juicy texture and a wealth of velvety tannin and acids but tied in with all this power there is floral fruit, great substance and a lovely presence.
A monster Malbec grape crop gave us exactly what we wanted , enough to make our *Tango* Malbec plus some overage to make our *Bubbles* Sparkling Malbec. Malbec has taste characteristics of ripe black fruits, such as plum and blackberry; peppery notes with tobacco and spice; earthy firm tannin and ample acidity. All this combines to make it a great red meat wine that is adaptable enough to stand up to spicy Mexican, Cajun, Indian or Italian fare. Always consider Malbec for barbecue steaks, chili and sausage.
French Oak for 22 months, approximately 40% new, 40% one use and the balance neutral.
