A Gold Medal Winner at the San Francisco Competition this wine began life as a one-time production of Malbec from NAPA fruit. It shows tremendous flavors and a rich softness that hides its true power. It has absolutely improved with age.
A wonderfully deep, dense, glossy red-black hue when poured into the glass.
The nose starts off with blackcurrant and ripe plum with a layer of densely compacted fruit beneath revealing a seam of minerals and still more.
Pure on the palate with a juicy texture and a wealth of velvety tannins and acids but tied in with all this power there is floral fruit, great substance and a lovely presence.
A wine made to pair with bone-in steak reminiscent of lovers entwined in the Tango, the dance of love.
Malbec has taste characteristics of ripe black fruits, such as plum and blackberry; peppery notes with tobacco and spice; earthy firm tannins and ample acidity. All this combines to make it a great red meat wine that is adaptable enough to stand up to spicy Mexican, Cajun, Indian or Italian fare. Always consider Malbec for barbecue steaks, chili and sausage.
