A Pinot Noir resulting from warm summer days tempered by cool San Francisco Bay breezes to build complexity into a mouth-filling Pinot.
The name Rapture is indicative of being carried away by ecstasy in tasting this overwhelming Pinot Noir.
In the mouth red fruits with flavors of plum and cherry. A nice acidity and tannin structure combine to make it broad in the mouth identifying it as a great food wine.
Tasting with our Williamson Truffle Salt is a sensory sensation and a second following taste beings back the truffles again. - Yum!
The fruit came from the south block of our Russian River Valley, Vine Hill Vineyards planted with 100% Pommard clone of Pinot Noir.
The final wine is our effort at a vins de cépage de Northern California, by incorporating a little blending of Dry Creek Valley fruit in the final wine, hence the Sonoma appellation on the label.
The cool spring slowed down some of the fruit growth allowing the grapes time to develop and ripen, then the hotter August temperatures provided the right amount of stress at the right time for flavor development.
