The more we make Pinot the better they seem to get. This 2012 Passion is an incredible, sublime, noble, evocative Russian River Valley Pinot that has to be tasted to be believed.
On first look Passion shows an inviting dark cranberry hue.
On the nose an ethereal, perfumed scent, with notes of middle eastern spices; both dark and red cherry, violets, rose petal or what some refer to as "Turkish Delight", black olive and spice.
And then comes the taste, oh yes, go there! A crisp, pomegranate and red cherry that dance on your tongue.
The nose will fade with exposure to air showing the youth of the wine (tasting and notes performed September 2013) but even for one so young this Pinot is already a heartbreaker.
Given a year or two in bottle, it will be more than exceptional!
Fabulous paired with Heublumen raw organic cow's milk cheese or Truffe Noire cheese.
