Arouse is a blend that Bill changes for each vintage, creating our own unique terroir-driven wine from Bordeaux components that feels uniquely American — bold, flavorful, and easy to enjoy.

This 2023 vintage is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with just a drop of Malbec. The Cabernet delivers power, depth, and dark fruit intensity—cassis, blackberry, and graphite—while the touch of Malbec adds a hint of violet, juiciness, and soft edges.

The result is a wine that’s rich, flavorful, and versatile—delicious on its own, but equally at home with grilled steaks, roasted chicken, or a classic cheeseburger.

The 2023 Arouse is a huge wine - a classic Cabernet structure with added plushness from Malbec, shaped by the distinct growing regions:

Aromatics: Ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry lead, followed by notes of graphite, cedar, and dried bay leaf. Subtle floral tones (violet) and cocoa powder come through from the Malbec.

Structure: Medium-plus to full-bodied with firm but polished tannins, bright acidity, and a long, savory finish.

Finish: Lingering notes of dark fruit, espresso, and gentle baking spice.

Overall, the wine is rich yet composed, offering depth and structure with just enough softness and aromatic lift to keep it approachable and food-friendly.

Our 2023 wine vintage is being hailed as exceptional, potentially one of the best in recent memory, due to a combination of a long, cool growing season and ideal weather conditions allowing grapes to ripen slowly in balanced conditions. This resulted in plush, concentrated flavors, deep color, freshness, and strong tannic structure—ideal for long-lived wines.

The idea behind Arouse is simple: take our California-grown Bordeaux varieties and step outside the traditional blending rules of Bordeaux. This vintage brings together Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, a pairing that’s bold, approachable and distinctly American in character.

Matured in French Oak for 22 months, approximately 40% new, 40% one use and the balance neutral.
Cases produced = 633. No allergens were used in the making of this wine.
