Amok Spice Mix
A classic Cambodian-style seasoning for fish, prawns, chicken or vegetables.
Traditionally cooked in individual banana leaf portions, however Amok may be cooked in a wok or a saute pan for convenience.
Amok is a traditional Khmer spice mix with its own unique and distinctive character. The special spice blend comes out of the cooking method where the dish is steamed in tin foil and the aroma released when the foil is opened to reveal the amok is almost a meal in itself!
We recommend using sea bass or cod for this dish. It should also be noted that this dish should not be chili hot, relying instead on fragrant and zesty flavors for its character.
