Allure Meritage 2005

Allure Meritage 2005

DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL from Sonoma Harvest Fair Wine Competition awarded to our Meritage Allure, a seamless blend of the Nobel 5 Bordeaux varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc but with not one varietal dominating.

One can feel this wine unfolding, revealing layer upon layer of delicate flavor, then the surprise, taken into the mouth together with a complex, multi flavored food like lasagna, the whole experience sings!

Tasting Notes

In the glass a lovely blackberry nose with alluring hints of plum and blackcurrant character. The palate offers a fresh although gently textured wine covering the ripe tannins that persist to the end very nicely with a depth, substance and richness.

Production Notes

Production = 700 cases 600x750ml + 200x375ml

Winemaker Notes

In 2005, bud break was a little early followed by significant May rainfall. Mild temperatures continued throughout the season and a cold September delayed ripening our reds until October.

Cooperage Notes

French Oak for 22 months, approximately 40% new, 40% one use and the balance neutral.
