Indian Layered Dip with Lamb & Hummus

Layered dips are always popular offerings at any party. They're easy to assemble, and usually are among the first to disappear. You simply take a serving dish, layer the ingredients, and either chill or bake them.

Ingredients

  • fresh Hummus  ·  16 ounces 
  • Ground Lamb  ·  1 pound 
  • Garam Masala Stoneground Mustard  ·  1/4 cup 
  • Plain Yogurt  ·  1/4 cup 
  • Cucumbers (diced)  ·  1 cup 
  • Tomatoes (diced)  ·  1 cup 
  • Feta Cheese (crumbled)  ·  1 cup 
  • Iceberg Lettuce (shredded)  ·  1 cup 
  • Pita chips, crackers or french bread, or all  ·   

Instructions

This Indian-inspired dip is based on the idea of a traditional layered dip.

Season the ground lamb with salt & pepper and brown in medium frying pan.

Drain any excess fat.

Mix in the Garam Masala Mustard and yogurt and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

To assemble dip spread the hummus in a shallow dish. Top with layer of ground lamb mixture. Next, add the diced cucumbers, tomatoes and sprinkle with feta cheese. Finally, top with shredded lettuce.

Serve with pita chips, crackers, or bread.
