Yoakim Bridge Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah.
This dark-hued Petite is grown on the western bench of Dry Creek Valley, due west of the estate at approximately 500 feet elevation. Inky dark with a fruity nose it expresses a slight mineral on the palate giving way to bold, dark fruit, like blueberries, blackberries and plums.
Straightforward, dry and light-bodied with a lively acidity makes this a versatile food companion, however the acidity will decrease with age leaving a soft mouth-filling red wine to be enjoyed with chocolate.
Rains early in the 2018 year gave the vines a healthy start. Then a cool autumn allowed more prolonged ripening and delivered a vintage with slightly larger yields than 2017. The result across varieties was fine-quality wines with good ageing potential.
