Stagecoach Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

$245

The latest legendary Cabernet from Bill with grapes grown on a select block of volcanic soil in the famous "Stagecoach" vineyard high above Stags Leap in Napa.

A velvety and appealing wine that should be accompanied by faint candlelight on a laid table or with the light sparks of a crackling open fire as a companion for reading. The ripe Cabernet Sauvignon and the long ageing period give it full body that seduces the senses and a warm color that lightly brushes your thoughts.
Stagecoach Vineyard defines "Napa Cabernet Sauvignon". Growing well above the fog line, our vineyard block KB3A is drenched in sunlight from daybreak to sunset producing fruit of opulence and density. The 2015 vintage was light with regards to tonnage picked but far exceeded our expectations on grape quality. After three fruitful years in a row we were becoming used to a record breaking crush but we were grateful to have less of good quality than more of lesser quality. The overall vigor of this growing season was low, the harvest began early and finished late, the timing being dictated by crop maturity in a difficult year however the final wine quality in tank was excellent across the board for all varietals and appellations.
French Oak for 22 months, approximately 40% new, 40% one use and the balance neutral.
