Seduce Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 - Magnum

This is the 1.5 L Magnum version of the 2009 Seduce Cabernet Sauvignon.

The bottle is a “Trezzano” Bordeaux style magnum designed by Bruni Glass of Milan, Italy.

On one side of the bottle the names have been etched into the glass and highlighted in cherry red and white enamel. The WILLIAMSON WINES name has been etched and highlighted with actual gold.

To crown this special package, the neck was dipped in cherry red wax.

All of this work was performed in the hands of expect craftsmen as is fitting of such a handcrafted wine. Only 48 of these unique magnums were produced. As a final step, they are personally numbered and signed by winemaker Bill Williamson.

The bottles were sparged with nitrogen and then filled by hand. The corks were fitted individually by hand, a process that insures each bottle is filled and sealed correctly. However, this step often results in a little wine being spilled on the cork, so if you remove the wax cap and see wine stain on the top of the cork, don’t worry, the cork is not leaking.

One sniff of this Seduce and you are exclaiming *“What a great Cab!”* The wine shows soft pine *cigar box* and clove on the nose.  A complete *spice-box* in the mouth it combines dark fruit and soft toffee on the palate and just a hint of “dry creek dust” in the center. Smooth structured mouth feel and velvety tannins are proof of the superior structure.  This wine is elegantly complex, with a structure and balance supporting the entire taste spectrum.
Because it is relatively late ripening, Cabernet Sauvignon needs a warm, dry environment to ripen fully. Here in Northern California we have made some great, ultra-ripe Cabernet deliberately made from grapes that are so ripe that the levels of tannin and alcohol are virtually unnoticeable. Today we have developed an understanding of the precise characteristics of various areas within Napa and Sonoma and how to grow Cabernet Sauvignon to best advantage. Much of the Napa Valley, other the far southern end, is particularly well suited to super-ripe Cabernet that has the ability to age. By including some of the hotter parts of Sonoma County, in particular Dry Creek Valley we produce a complex new-world Cabernet Sauvignon.
French Oak for 22 months, approximately 40% new, 40% one use and the balance neutral.
