Rogue Creamery's "Oregon Blue" is the first blue cheese ever smoked. The result is magic! "Oregon Blue" is a classic, Roquefort-style blue cheese that is cold smoked 16 hours.
Long, gentle cold-smoking over shells from Oregon hazelnuts infuses Rogue Creamery’s Smokey Blue cheese with an added layer of rich flavor. The cold smoking process releases a sweet, creamy, smoky flavor that balances both the sharp blue flavor and sweet, creamy taste of the 100% natural, full-cream, sustainable milk from Bonanza View Dairy.
Sweet cream flavors and caramel notes balance earthy flavors of smoke and hints of roasted nuts. The result is a cakey yet smooth blue cheese reminiscent of candied bacon.
Smokey Blue is the first of its kind, inspired by a chef, and the flavor is signature to Oregon as the smoke is derived from Oregon hazelnut shells.
