A smoldering, dark, pure mouthful of rare single-vineyard, single-varietal Petit Verdot, an intensely bold, fruity-yet-floral, red wine.

Easy drinking, spicy and open showing lush, juicy, ripe fruit delivering a nice touch of boysenberry in the finish. By trying this single-varietal expression of Petit Verdot, you can gain an appreciation for what it adds to a red blend.

This unique wine is produced as a single-vineyard Petit Verdot.

In the mouth it starts as a giant of a wine fresh, floral and robust, yet through the mid-pallet the dark, spicy fruit is revealed ending with a silky smooth finish making it a totally enjoyable wine to sit and sip.

Perky pairs well with spicy foods and it is a natural fit for rich meat dishes such as grilled steak, spicy pork, veal, lamb and all types of game and sausage. Naturally it is also perfect with hard and semi hard cheeses.

A great wine to cellar. You should keep Perky stored well for at least three years before opening, decant it when you do and only share it with people you love.

Thanks to abundant rain in spring, vines were given a healthy start. The weather through the growing season was even with only moderate heat events, followed by cool and steady weather through harvest. A difficult grape to grow, this rare variety is typically the last harvested, sometimes as much as two weeks after Cabernet Sauvignon.

Characteristically Petit Verdot has high acidity and a light aromatic character. We have coaxed from this pure Petit Verdot a dark garnet color with a hint of banana brulee, violet and leather on the nose.

French Oak for 22 months, approximately 45% new, 45% one use and the balance neutral.

Cases produced = 100. No allergens were used in the making of this wine.
