Le Carre Du Berry

France

Le Carre du Berry is a French pasteurized goat’s milk cheese that is covered with a blend of herbs, peppercorns and juniper berries.

The goats grazing on the pastures of Berry in the Poitou region of France, south of the Loire River produce exceptionally rich milk that contain all of the typical flavor components of fresh goats milk. The cheese produced is delicious with nuances of clover, herbs, pines and walnuts.

A beautiful addition to a cheese plate, this young chèvre is lavishly covered with a blend of fresh herbs, peppercorns, and juniper berries giving the cheese a rich and milky flavor with a tangy finish.

As the cheese ages, the herbs dry, imparting intriguing floral notes to the paste, complementing its tangy creaminess. It is not recommended to eat the herbs so trim them off and enjoy this cheese with our Williamson Joy Sauvignon Blanc.

Featured in the October, 2011 Cheese Club paired with Williamson Joy SAUVIGNON BLANC.
