$145.00

Interlude, a Left Bank Bordeaux style Red Wine created from our California vineyards with a blend inspired by Château Latour.

A wine of extraordinary concentration and power, epitomizing strength and structure, offering immense depth and longevity while maintaining clarity, precision, and harmony.

As a wine Interlude delivers a robust yet harmonious expression of the finest terroirs of Napa and Sonoma.

Interlude, a California blend inspired by the wines of Château Latour.

  • Appearance: Deep, inky garnet with excellent concentration.

  • Nose: Powerful and focused, showing cassis, blackberry, graphite, pencil lead, tobacco, and hints of cedar and spice.

  • Palate: Full-bodied, structured, and dense, with firm, well-integrated tannins and remarkable depth. Black fruits dominate, complemented by earthy and mineral undertones.

  • Finish: Exceptionally long and persistent, with a balance of power and precision that allows decades of ageing.

  • Ageing Potential: 20+ years, evolving to reveal layers of truffle, leather, and subtle spice while retaining structural integrity.

In concert with this vintage's dry and cooler summer conditions, this wine has kept all its acid potential, the beginnings of perfect evolution and preservation.

Inspired by the wines of Château Latour this is a beautiful wine worthy of an interlude - a moment of pause between other wines - in a tasting. Decant for at least one hour and serve at 65°F

Our 2023 wine vintage is being hailed as exceptional, potentially one of the best in recent memory, due to a combination of a long, cool growing season and ideal weather conditions allowing grapes to ripen slowly in balanced conditions. This resulted in plush, concentrated flavors, deep color, freshness, and strong tannic structure—ideal for long-lived wines.

About the Blend

Cabernet Sauvignon – Drives the wine’s core: deep cassis, blackberry, graphite, pencil shavings, and our Napa signature cedar/tobacco character. It gives the structure, tannic backbone, and long aging potential.

Merlot – Adds mid-palate richness and supple texture, softening Cabernet’s austerity with hints of ripe plum and dark cherry.

Cabernet Franc – Subtle lift: floral aromatics (violet, iris), spice, and a touch of leafy elegance.

Petit Verdot – Tiny proportion, but powerful: brings color depth, peppery spice, and a hint of violets/graphite.

Following fermentation, the wine was transferred into new French oak barrels where malolactic fermentation took place.

All of the barrels come from French cooperages with whom we have had an association for over twenty years. Selected from two French forests, the wood is air dried and coopered over a five-year production period and finished with a special “toasting” suited to the delicate characteristics of our wines.

Only 200 cases produced. Our vineyards are farmed to the code of sustainable agriculture using traditional techniques, based on strict control of yields, manual harvests and numerous quality specific tasks that are carried out by hand throughout the year.

Little or no chemical fertilizers are used. Selection and planting of cover crops and their return to the soil provides additional organic nutrients allowing our vines to reach an advanced age and produce outstanding grapes.
