Bill's indulgence in making yet another beautifully balanced, cellar-worthy Cabernet with concentration, elegance, and a long, confident finish.

Crafted with precision and patience, this wine is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, delivering depth, structure, and a powerful core of dark fruit. A touch of Cabernet Franc brings lifted aromatics and subtle spice, while Petit Verdot adds color intensity and refined tannins. A final addition of Malbec contributes a rounded richness to the mid-palate.

In the glass, this Cabernet-led blend shows a deep, saturated ruby hue. Aromas rise with confidence: blackcurrant, crushed blackberry, and dark cherry layered with graphite, dried herbs, and a subtle violet lift from the supporting varieties. On the palate, the wine is structured yet composed, offering tightly woven tannins wrapped around a core of ripe black fruit. Notes of cocoa nib, cedar, and a whisper of spice add dimension as the wine unfolds.

The finish is long, refined, and beautifully proportioned, suggesting superb aging potential while remaining generous and expressive in its youth.

Growing conditions in 2022 required careful vineyard irrigation and canopy management.

The lack of adequate winter rain together with frost in late April contributed to a lower-than-normal projected yield.

Minimal rainfall and high temperatures in early summer allowed for the fruit that successfully set in the spring to ripen quickly, and up to August moderate daytime temperatures and cool nights created excellent conditions.

However the 2022 harvest was fast-tracked by a heat wave which came as a bit of a surprise nevertheless all our varieties are showing excellent chemistries in the winery and getting grapes in a little early protects them from any further hot weather and the risk of wildfires.

French Oak for 22 months, approximately 40% new, 40% one use and the balance neutral.
