Heritage Shiraz 2023

Made by Bill with classic, no-compromise winemaking Heritage shows the infinitesimal attention to detail; elegant, balanced with a solid sense of place; you can taste the history of Shiraz in the glass.

Nice rich dark color in the glass with a spectacular nose combining candy-apple with pleasant slightly earthy notes.

In the mouth a soft, luxuriant wine with medium-full mouth-feel and a deliciousness that says, "don't bother me with food".

The ending is again luscious and memorable. A pure Shiraz it will obviously work with a range of foods but is easily worthy of a simple night sipping by the fire.

An elegant Shiraz from the Williamson Estate in Dry Creek Valley. The vineyard consists of Australian Shiraz and French Hermitage clones sustainably farmed to produce low yields of the finest quality fruit from which we have coaxed a soft, opulent, velvet smooth wine using winemaking techniques developed hundreds of years ago in the Rhone Valley of France.
Like most reds, Syrah benefits from barrel aging so we use French Oak:- 35% new; 35% one-use; 30% neutral.
Not fined or filtered to retain the flavor integrity we bottled only 467 cases.
