Made by Bill with classic, no-compromise winemaking Heritage shows the infinitesimal attention to detail; elegant, balanced with a solid sense of place; you can taste the history of Shiraz in the glass.
This is a Shiraz meant to be enjoyed with good company and simple pleasures—whether a grilled steak on a summer evening, a hearty stew in the cooler months, or a quiet night by the fire with nothing but a glass in hand. It is a wine that balances generosity and elegance, embodying the very character of Shiraz in every drop.
On the palate, the wine is plush, generous, and unpretentious. Dark fruit takes center stage, supported by subtle notes of cocoa, and a delicate hint of spice. Smooth, velvety tannins provide structure, while lively acidity keeps the wine bright and inviting, making it both approachable now and promising enough to age gracefully.
The finish is equally luscious and memorable. A pure Shiraz, it pairs gracefully with a variety of dishes, yet is entirely content to be enjoyed on its own—a perfect companion for a quiet evening by the fire.
The 2022 growing season demanded both attention and care in the vineyard. With winter rains falling short and a late April frost reducing the projected yield, every decision—from irrigation to canopy management—mattered.
Early summer brought minimal rainfall and high temperatures, prompting the fruit that had set successfully in spring to ripen quickly. By August, moderate daytime warmth paired with cool nights created near-perfect conditions for flavor and balance.
A surprise heat wave ultimately hastened the harvest, but careful timing ensured that grapes reached the winery at their peak. Across all varieties, the chemistry is excellent, and bringing in the fruit a touch early has helped protect it from further heat and the ever-present risk of wildfires.
It was a season that required vigilance, patience, and a little luck—but in the end, the wines reflect the care and attention lavished upon them.
No allergens were used in the making of this wine.
Our vineyards are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable agriculture, using traditional techniques, strict reduction and control of yields, manual harvests, and numerous hands-on only tasks throughout the year.
No chemical fertilizers are applied. Instead, carefully selected cover crops are planted and returned to the soil, providing organic nutrients that allow our vines to reach remarkable age and consistently produce outstanding grapes.
In the winery, nothing is added to alter flavor or color. Every wine is allowed to express its natural character, reflecting both the care of the vineyard and the integrity of the wines.
