Entice Cuvee 2018
A delightful, well-bred Bordeaux style red wine with a paradoxically enticing manner of managing strong spices in food.
Lively up front on the nose this wine fills the mouth with a luscious, juice hinting at blackberry, currant and date flavors but it's that subtlety, the flavors are only hints and then they evolve right there in the mouth into a full bodied, food friendly wine in search of a big pepper steak.
The wine is powerful yet delicate with a characteristic freshness and great fullness on the palate. Intense in flavor with a deep sensual structure that is never too heavy and always elegant.
Finally with 1,200 cases produced everyone can have a taste.
The 2018 season was seamless with heavenly hangtime and phenomenal phenolic development. February saw abundant rains, followed by lots of filtered light in spring and early summer. Both bud break and flowering occurred a bit late, but under ideal weather conditions, creating plentiful and even fruit set.
Summer brought generous sun during the day and cooler marine influences, virtually uninterrupted by major heat spikes. The relatively mild summer followed by extended fall sunshine and moderate heat created near-ideal conditions as the fruit developed flavor complexity, approaching maturity with gradual increases in sugar levels, reaching optimal balance of brix and pH levels at harvest.
French Oak for 22 months, approximately 40% new, 40% one use and the balance neutral.
