There is a purity of fruit found in this wine. Clarissa was uniquely designed by Bill to complement medium-soft foods that include some of the medium strength spices.

Dense. opaque with a dark ruby edge the color promises depth of flavor to come and it doesn't disappoint.

A nose that makes you want to hesitate and continue to enjoy the beautiful, heady, complex aroma.

Pretty, dusty Cabernet character in the mouth with an incredible, balanced array of dark flavors, licorice, blackberry, walnut and sultana very alive yet subdued and totally in control just like Clarissa herself.

Vinification of the five noble wines that will make this blend takes place in small, temperature controlled, open-top stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 22 months. The blending for *Clarissa* takes place after about six months in barrel as we feel it is better to blend the wines before the influence of the wood has progressed too far.

Naturally the blend is complex and comprises, in order of quantity, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot with 50% from our Atlas Peak Napa vineyards and 50% from our Sonoma Mountain and Dry Creek Valley vineyards.

Matured in French Oak for 22 months, approximately 40% new, 40% one use and the balance neutral.
Production for *Clarissa* has historically been limited and the 2017 vintage produced only 500 cases.
