Chantilly Chardonnay 2012

GOLD MEDAL WINNER at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair Wine Competition our 2012 Chantilly Musqué Clone 809 Chardonnay combines the fragrant aroma of Muscat with the provocative texture of Chardonnay.

This distinct clone is named for the French term meaning both perfumed (‘musky’) and Muscat-like, and indicates that the variety is highly aromatic and the Chantilly Chardonnay Musqué 809 clone certainly lives up to its name.

Light straw color with lush, bright and rich aromas with hints of tangerine or tangelo.

You may detect aromas of exotic fruit with a little almond paste, pie dough or even fresh baked bread but always with soft floral notes.

Fresh, bright, crisp yet full-bodied, this delightful Chardonnay will pair nicely with spicy shellfish such as crab or lobster.

Try with Thai food or creamy chevre but its elegance and freshness give cause to want to simply sit quietly and sip, often.

Brisk and fruity, very dry and with a refreshing acidity. In the nose, there are flavors of green apple and lemon while in the mouth this Chablis-like wine delivers aromas of vanilla, lemon and lime.
Chantilly is made in a different style from typical Chablis but still presents more dry and fresh, rather than the more weighty and richly flavored California Chardonnays.
