Made in the Loire Valley by Sevre et Belle, elegant, semi-soft, with a dense, flaky paste and a white bloomy rind, the assertive flavor of Bucherondin sharpens with age.
After three weeks it becomes dry and crumbly and is excellent served with our Williamson Joy Sauvignon Blanc. Bucherondin is excellent for salads, marinating or simply chèvre for the board.
Featured in Cheese Club December 2011. The tangy taste of chevre has a true affinity with Sauvignon Blanc, a dry white wine that is known for its fruity, herbaceous aromas. This marriage began in the Loire Valley, where the wines of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé (all 100% sauvignon blanc grapes), are produced right down the road from the best cheese farms.
The natural acidity of Sauvignon Blanc blends beautifully with the tart flavors of chevre and for a real treat, serve Boucherondin with a touch of apricot or peach preserves.
