There is one glorious white grape here - Chardonnay.
This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in our estate Amourette vineyard. The vineyard has been managed for over thirty years to produce a smaller crop of higher-quality fruit, solely focused on producing a Chardonnay of elegance and finesse.
This wine is a delightful pale straw color with a delicate very slight citrus aroma. In the mouth it has a crisp apple and pear flavor followed by a soft, ever so slight, butterscotch finish. It is an impeccable, balanced wine with just enough acidity and body to evoke a power, while not erring on the side of being too heavy.
In traditional Burgundian method this wine was barrel fermented and aged in French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation, which converts malic acid to lactic acid, was interrupted halfway through, resulting in a complex and balanced wine allowing the best of its original Chardonnay grape characteristics to show in the taste.
French oak for 12 months - 33% new, 33% one use, balance neutral.
