Jann Freeman - Artist

Jann Freeman is an Australian artist living in Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma, California.

Jann interprets the vineyards and surrounding mountain landscapes of Northern Sonoma via watercolor on paper. Her paintings depict the whimsy and mystical aspects of this wine country landscape while still presenting a fine representation of the area, its symmetry and colors.

Jann completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Sydney University, Australia, followed by a Diploma of Education.

Jann taught as an Art specialist in private and public schools for twenty-five years where she was instrumental in developing the Government's art curriculum for years K-6, concluding with art exhibitions in which every student in the school produced their own framed a work of art.

After moving to California Jann taught art classes in Los Altos and San Carlos schools, and has been an Art Docent for the Los Altos schools.

Throughout her career in art Jann has explored and exhibited many techniques and processes including screen-printing, ceramics, batik, print making, and sculpture however watercolor has always been a passion and she is now painting with verve, exploring color and technique while drawing inspiration from the seasonal complexity yet simple beauty of wine country.
