Wine Country in Watercolor
Born in Australia and now living in Dry Creek Valley, Jann paints the landscape she sees around her: vineyards climbing across the land, mountains holding the horizon and the colors of wine country changing with the season.
Her work is recognizable without being literal. Vineyard rows become patterns. Hills drift into color. Familiar places acquire just enough whimsy to remind us that a landscape can be both real and remembered.
Watercolor suits this country. It moves with the light, allows color to mingle freely and leaves room for the imagination to finish what the brush has begun.
The Artist Behind the Paintings
About Jann
Jann completed her fine-arts and education studies in Sydney, Australia, before beginning a twenty-five-year career as an art specialist in private and public schools.
She has worked in screen-printing, ceramics, batik, printmaking and sculpture, but watercolor has remained her enduring passion. Today she paints with verve and curiosity, drawing inspiration from the seasonal complexity and apparent simplicity of Sonoma wine country.
MORE ABOUT JANN’S ARTISTIC LIFE
Jann completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sydney, followed by a Diploma of Education. She subsequently taught art in private and public schools for twenty-five years.
During her teaching career, she helped develop art curricula for grades K–6 and organized exhibitions in which every student created and presented a framed work of art.
After moving to California, Jann taught art classes in Los Altos and San Carlos and served as an art docent in Los Altos schools.
Her experience across ceramics, batik, screen-printing, printmaking and sculpture continues to influence the shapes, textures and confident use of color found in her watercolors.

Paintings are available for purchase, with prices generally ranging from $145 to $595. Availability changes as individual works find new homes.
