Mahlab (whole)

Mahlab is the small kernel from a variety of cherry and it has an unusual, rose-scented fragrance and bitter, almond-like taste. 

Mahlab is used to flavour cakes, pastries and biscuits in Middle-Eastern cooking.

Other Common Names: Mahaleb, Mahlepi, St. Lucie's Cherry.
