This distinct clone is named for the French term meaning both perfumed (‘musky’) and Muscat-like, and indicates that the variety is highly aromatic and the Chantilly Chardonnay Musqué 809 clone certainly lives up to its name.
Bright, light straw-gold the the fragrant bouquet of honeysuckle, orange blossoms, honeydew and peach waft from the glass, leading into a beautifully balanced and structured palate where vibrant juicy flavors of mangoes, papaya and lychee mingle with wildflower honey, apricot and a lime zest finish.
Fresh, bright, crisp yet full-bodied, this delightful Chardonnay will pair nicely with spicy Thai food or creamy chevre but its elegance and freshness give cause to want to simply sit quietly and sip, often.
